PRODUCTS The McGuirk's Quirks Design Company was founded in 1986 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Leslie McGuirk started by designing environmental T-shirts. Her clients included The Nature Company, Bonwit Teller, Earthwatch, The Marine Biological Laboratory, Rhinowatch, and many others. In 1992 Takashimaya discovered her artwork after reading an article about McGuirk's Quirks in GLAMOUR magazine. Takashimaya, a high-end department store chain in Japan, took her environmental designs and placed them on over 800 products...everything from slippers, stationary, aprons, towels, bags, and toilet seat covers. McGuirk also designed carpeting, wallpaper, and bedspreads for the redecoration of the official Disneyland Hotel in Tokyo. |
